Are you married kids, pets, etc? - I've been married to Mark, a Commercial Real Estate Attorney, for 17 years. We are blessed with two wonderful children: Trent age 13 and Amanda age 10. Both are honor students at Calvary Christian Academy and very active in Scouting. Amanda plays the piano and dances in the Children's Ballet Theatre.
Do you have any hobbies? - Cooking, Traveling, going to the spa, and being a Mom!
What made you decide to join your direct sales company? - The Freedom!
How long have you been in business? - 20+ years
What do you like best about the company? - Women with Dreams partners with a $1 Billion + 8 year old health and wellness company -- love the fact that they are growing and their leadership is strong!
What has been your biggest challenge? I absolutely love what I do -- I have so many creative ideas for the Women with Dreams Team that my assistants have a hard time keeping up with me to pump them out!
What has been your greatest strength? - My greatest strength has been my daily ME time which includes reading 15 minutes of reading from the Bible, at least 15 minutes of listening to a motivational or educational CD, reading from a book of Magazine (love Success Magazine and John Maxwell), and writing for 15 minutes: what was great, who I helped, who I encouraged, what I could have done better, and What I am looking forward to tomorrow. I plan tomorrow before I go to bed.
What has been your biggest achievement? - There are two: 1) Empowering others to live their dreams and 2) Creating a business that has allowed me to a mom that is actively involved in my childrens' activites -- including being Room Mom, Field Trip Mom, Girl Scout Leader, and Boy Scout Mom 'helper.' be a stay-at-home-mom, the room mom at the kids school, the craft mom, a Girl Scout Leader, and a Boy Scout Mom 'helper.'
What advice would you give women starting out in home business? -Be consistent in your efforts. Commit to 10 to 15 hours per week and spend them on income producing activities EVERY week. Have reasonable expectations and know that your busines WILL be profitable. Become a student of the business.
How do you balance work and family? -
It's important to work from a schedule and to let your family know when they will see you. Choose what night will be your family night and what nights will be your work nights. If you have kids, involve them -- My kids were involved since they could walk. Set goals together and pay them when they get the concept.
How do you promote your business both offline and online? - We teach our TEAM 50 plus ways to promote and market their business. In the NEW economy, it important to know how to market BOTH online and offline.
What are your goals for 2011?
In 2011, my goal is to personally mentor 24 women build profitable businesses. While our TEAM enrolls over a 1,000 people each year, I personally mentor just a few. We are also launching some new training programs that we are very exciting about.
